Bigger is not better! Please size appropriately solely on the vehicle conducting the recovery (not the stuck vehicle).
If the rope is too big for your vehicle, you will not benefit from the kinetic energy.
Yes! And we are constantly testing our products. We believe in field tests, therefore you will see us conduct crazy pulls on our Instagram (@KineticX_Ropes). We also certify all our products with CERTEX in California.
After comparing various ropes on the market, we noticed many just didn’t measure up (see our YouTube video on the Sandy Cats channel). That’s why we took the initiative to develop our own – prioritizing quality and safety without breaking your bank.
Our mission? To offer you a safer, superior alternative to those budget ropes flooding the market. We’re not here to get rich quick – our focus is giving you, especially those eyeing a $100 Amazon find, a choice that offers peace of mind. By investing more in production and accepting lower profits, we make this possible.
A tow strap provides a static pull with no kinetic energy. It is best utilized for a slow and controlled tow. A kinetic recovery rope will assist in the recovery of a stuck vehicle by providing kinetic energy and avoiding shock loading associated with a tow strap.
A 30' kinetic recovery rope will give you more working space for a safer extraction. A 20' kinetic recovery rope will give you better ability in tight areas and a more controlled pull. We recommend a 30' rope as we often find ourselves wanting more distance to prevent the recovery vehicle from getting stuck as well. However, if you need a 20' rope, we recommend purchasing a 10' bridal as well to use as an extension when needed.
When you’re stuck in snow, mud, or sand! Exception: if you are buried to the axle in thick mud, we recommend using a winch to break the suction.
Rocks.
We recommend using a winch when you need a slow and controlled pull to prevent further vehicle damage.
Attach the rope only to rated shackles (soft or hard). Do not loop the rope over itself. Attempt to pull in the same direction the stuck vehicle is facing.
Your first attempt should be a controlled dynamic pull using the traction of the vehicle. If unsuccessful, reset and attempt a pull at 1-2 MPH. Continue increasing speed (each attempt) up to 5MPH. Exceeding 5 MPH may start exceeding the working load of a kinetic rope (1/3 break strength). An excellent video to learn about loads and speed in relation to kinetic ropes can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOQS0kvNfTc
If you remain within the recommended guidelines (up to 5MPH) with an appropriately sized rope and vehicle, our ropes can handle hundreds of pulls.
Conduct a visual inspection looking for signs of wear, fraying, cuts, or damage. Run your hands along the rope to feel for inconsistencies that might not be immediately visible. This includes internal damages, like broken strands, or any areas where the rope might feel unusually soft or compressed, indicating internal wear or damage. If your kinetic recovery rope shows any signs of significant wear, or damage, or does not pass the inspection for any reason, it's safest to retire it and replace it with a new one. If your kinetic rope feels too stiff, it is also time to retire it. Using a compromised rope can pose serious safety risks to you, your vehicle, and bystanders during a recovery operation.
Safety and versatility! Soft shackles are designed to be easy to use and offer a strong, lightweight alternative to metal shackles. They're particularly advantageous in situations where a quick, secure attachment is needed without the risk of corrosion, damage to equipment, or injury from flying metal in the event of failure.
Pass the shackle through the attachment point. Secure the knot. Tighten the shackle by hand.
We designed our hitch receiver soft shackle to work directly in your hitch receiver! Its sheath is specifically designed to work with raw metal edges as thin as 3/16" (the most common receiver size). They will eliminate the need for hitch receiver attachment accessories that are bulky and expensive.
Attach directly through the entire hitch receiver of your vehicle. Make sure the black sheath is on the metal edge. Do not exceed the tow capacity of your vehicle or you risk damaging the crossmember. Do not exceed 5 MPH during the recovery process. NEVER exceed 20,000 pounds while using through a receiver.
The sheath is created to be free and may slightly move during the recovery. Inspect the Hitch Hero shackle after each pull by moving the sheath and inspecting the green shackle itself.
While we’re huge advocates for American-made products, our ropes are crafted in China and certified in the USA to ensure top-notch quality. If your budget allows, we always encourage supporting US-made products and strongly recommend Yankum Ropes and Bubba Ropes.
With our ropes, we know you will always get out of trouble (therefore our lifetime guarantee). The only real variable we see compared to USA-made ropes with USA-made cordage (not all USA-made ropes actually use USA-made cordage) is consistency in stretch over prolonged heavy use.
Support USA jobs, support USA products, but if a kinetic rope is a necessity for your commute and this economy is killing you… we are here to give you peace of mind that you will make it home!
But we’ll just say we are “Based in the US” like other companies that like to play with words :)
.... we are based in the US though! Stop by our shop if you are in the area!
